Rain in the Desert?

Weather!  While I have missed the worst of it, I did have to drive through some pretty deep puddles on route 160.  What is going on?  I left a drought in Northern California and hit some heavy rain in Death Valley.  Crazy.  The drive, for the most part, has been nothing short of spectacular with beauty around every bend in the road.  Here are a few photos from the beginning of my trip, not including  Death Valley, the Amorgosa Hotel and Las Vegas.

    Amazing places and stunning photos. Mono lake looks the same... but different, so pretty. And I want to take a trip to Bodie now! I love the old west ghost towns, ahh to live in the original gold rush times... never mind but I do want to visit Bodie! xoxo
