Here We Go Again!

Which is the name of a song and also an indicator of my upcoming travel - back to Southeast Asia.  Yes, something keeps calling me back to this beautiful place.  It is quite possibly all the beautiful temples, or maybe it's the kindness of the people in Thailand, or the food, or the beaches, or the fact that my dear friends and sometimes traveling companions and I decided almost simultaneously that we would love to visit Sri Lanka.  So, that is where I'm headed as well as to an island in a National Marine Park in Southern Thailand (Ko Tarutao) and to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia with my friends.  After our return from Sri Lanka, they will head back to Bangkok to visit their son before their return home (they have been gone since early January), and I will head to Malaysian Borneo to (hopefully) see orangutans, proboscis monkeys, pygmy elephants and who knows what else!  I'm hopeful that there is nothing that takes a dislike to me and decides to bite me, sting me or suck my blood!  Ha!
I'm excited to be on the road again, but this time is different.  I am leaving behind a new grandson who seems to change and grow every time I blink.  I'll miss him an incredible amount and hope he remembers me when I return.  It's different than it is with my kids who seem to be fine with me going away periodically.  (Dan Hicks quote: "How can I miss you if you won't go away?".  And I know my dog misses me but he recovers quickly.  So there it is.  Check my blog periodically if you'd like to keep up with my travels.  If you'd like to email, it is much easier to use my regular email as people have reported having trouble leaving comments on the blog site.
I'll be leaving on a jet plane (another song) in early February.  So, 'bye for now and hope you keep in touch.
